The story behind these photos and an observation.
All of these photos were taken 10-12 years ago by my trusty Nikon D700 which was one of the top and best value cameras at the time. It had a whole 12mp or resolution.☺️ I’ve never believed that a huge amount of megapixels made that much of a difference although today’s cameras are quicker, much better low light capability and virtually no noise. Of course I had, and still have, top Nikon lenses from micro, mid range, wide angle and telephoto most f2.8. These are lifetime lenses. I used to post photos here a long time ago when first starting out and some of these photos you see here in my later years I have posted before but I figure there’s always a new crop of followers to this site.
So my big observation is that many of these opportunities, these locations, here in Northern California cannot be duplicated. Human encroachment and climate change have disappeared the fog, the open landscapes and the psychedelic ice colors in the eastern part of the county when temperatures dipped into the 20’s. I haven’t seen those temperatures or the unique fog effects in years. Not that I’m not a complete downer cause I’m sure there are still very cool photo captures out there. It just means the hunt will have to travel farther. Alas for me not for awhile. Paid off one college for my daughter and helping my son with his Masters. When I retire in a few years quest what I’m going to do. 😊. In the meantime I’ll still have plenty of photos in my portfolio to dish out. Cheers!
